changing up and down .any ideas ?
thanks in advance ! i cant see the bike until tomorrow.

1st to my mind and experience is pawl swivel spring legs not parallel and just missing pawl and maybe the spring crook not at the bottom. Can increase your bad word vocabulary getting that lesion down.

Oh cool finally got one right for someone. One event that left me always aware fo that dang clothes pin spring was having kick lever get stuck down away from home -which made be cringe d/t the layshaft bearing, but I'd already been through gear box, kicker released when I took off foot peg support - but didn't realize it then- so continued to take off outer cover, disturbing nothing, then discovered the witness marks of lever against the foot support, smacked head, bent peg support in a tad then cover back on to have false N galore, until I replaced and reset a new pawl spring, which apparently decided it was just too rusty finally to hold its set well. I had not touched the old spring at all it - just picked that time to fail, so was hard to figure out what was doing what.
