We only talk about problems here, how about telling us about some of your favorite rides and roads and the conditions this time of year!

I have my short loop which I do once or twice a week. Its about 6 miles to warmup then 4 miles of twisties like a mini road course, then 6 miles to cool down. It takes less the 20 minutes on a good day but really shows the Nortons handling off!

One of my favorite rides is to Barkhampstead Reservoir. The scenery and roads are spectacular any time of year but with the New England Fall Foilage even more so now!

OK, I belong to like 9 different forums, 3 bike, 2 car, 3 gun, 1 camera. Invariably people only post when they are having issues or trying to help someone with issues, and I am usually no different! But seriously, doesn't anybody have a good ride story that they want to share?

Yes I do , But I don't have any pictures so I will just tell you about it. Have you guys heard of the Natchez Trace ? This parkway runs from Nashville TN , to Natchez MS . Its just under 500 miles the whole way . Its a very pleasant ride without many crossroads , the speeds are slow (50 MPH speed limit) . But it is still a great worthwhile ride especially if you live in the Midwest because its not too far to get to it. The are many historic landmarks along the way and you even get to see the original Trace in some places. The Natchez Trace is the path the Indians and riverboat men used to walk back up north . Anyway , at Tupelo MS I diverted east to Birmingham AL and went to the Barber Motorcycle Museum . Five floors of great motorcycles and Lotus Cars. I spent 5 hours there and could have stayed longer. Then it was back to the Trace to finish the trip. The next day I arrived Natchez and spent the night . On the way back I went back through Vicksburg MS and saw more Civil War history. They also had a big Tug boat museum hosted by the Army Corps of Engineers that I visited. Then it was on the road again to Memphis , and back through Illinois. By this time I just wanted to get back and not much else to say . Admittedly the whole ride wasn't great , a bunch of super slab and some rain. But , I had a good time!

The weather here has been poor and the days it's nice I can't ride. Bad timing. I did get 4,500 miles on the bike this year so thats good. Sorry I cant contribute to this thread because I really would like to..

Monday 2nd November I took a ride down a bit of the coastline from north to mid Wales UK. 220 mile round trip, I took two photo's looks more like summer than autumn/Fall! 20degC on Aberystwyth sea front and 18degC by the time I arrived at Aberdovey. Bike, weather and traffic were great, feet went numb tho lol

OK, both 961's are updated with all of Richard 7"s goodies (coils, wires, plugs, vents, pinned ring gears, air box, oil changed ect, ect) Forecast for North Florida for this weekend is spectacular (no clouds and 75 to 80 F).

I know a really fine lady in Asheville who rides a Moto Guzzi. I invited her down for a 961 ride, and she accepted.

Going to take a ride up the coast on A1A. So I should have some nice pictures by the end of the weekend. But fall pictures in Florida look like summer pictures everywhere else. I have one deciduous tree in the front yard, and the leaves have not started to turn colors yet. Normally happens in December, and then greens back up by the end of February.

Except for the lack of twisties I am extremely jealous!

LOL Yes you are correct. As I have stated before, the twisties in Florida are the Interstate off ramps.

We went on a ride along the St Johns River about a year ago. We tried a new road, and it happen to have 3 nice curves on it. The guy leading the pack was a conservative rider, and did not push it through the corners. When we stopped for an adult beverage, I chastised him for "wasting" corners. LOL

I am going to Asheville over Thanksgiving, and I am hoping the weather will allow for a ride on some of the great roads up there (or down there from your perspective).

Just got home from Pompano on A1A. Heat wave. Had a good time on the beach, but just arrived home to high 50's and rain. Hope I get a good ride in before the bike goes to the shop for probably will be until the Spring. Time to break out the old T140 for some gentlemanly rides on the twisties.
