Since these are Expensive and getting harder to find, has anyone found a suitable alternative.

So far I have found 2 that look like that would work, but I am still looking for more feedback on them,

http://www.isutami.com/product/NJ306EM- ... 01718.html $50 shipped for a pair

and the other is a rollway nj306em, I havent found much on them that is in english.

I know I should just pony up and get the FAG bearings, but as usual money is short and I am always looking for other options.

I believe Fred & Ella at Old Britts have an affordable quality alternative.

Phil at Fairspares has FAG's for $117.50ea. That's in line with the price from Old Britts, $115.00ea. Norvil is $86.89ea plus shipping. Mick Hemmings , $81.09ea plus shipping. They are all much more than $50 shipped for a pair, but if I was trying to come up with a risky purchase, I don't think I could come up with one that's better than the one you described.
I would be afraid that I got what I paid for on this one. :)

Be careful - there is a difference between an NJ306 and an NJ306E.

The E stands for Extra Heavy Duty.

Older dommies use the NJ306, right back to the early 500cc dommies.
Not so good for heavier cranks and more revs - as Norton Villiers found out wif da Combat....

I think I read somewhere that just about all NJ306's were E's, but I may be wrong. I need to order some parts for my dirtbike, so I may order a couple of these for just to check. If they're correct, I'll use 'em; if not, I'll send them back.

(BTW, I still need to introduce myself and start a restoration thread for my basket case '74 Hi-Rider, just haven't had the time or motivation yet)

FAG manufactures only NJ306 E ( heavy duty) other manufacturers can manufacture "standard" NJ306 each manufacturer having its own way of coding specificities.
Pay also attention to the cage material : FAG is solid brass when other could be polyamide ,press sheet brass or riveted brass.
