Hi again everyone my 1975 Mk3 has the peashooter exhaust silencers with down pipes that fit but there origin I do not know they were in situ at purchase, anyway my problem is my downpipes are lower than the frame tubes which makes it very awkward and time consuming to get the bike on my lift which I really do not want to change as it has worked very well with every other bike I have had, it is the eazy rizer, I am able to use it if I pack it with wood to fit between exhausts but only lifting from the timing chest side anyway my question is are exhaust downpipes available from stock that do not sit below the frame or am I stuck with this forever ? Many thanks Chris

Unless yours are unusually low they are all pretty much the same except the upswept on one side only type. I have MK3 pipes on my MK2a and they are no lower than other pre MK3 I have fitted in the past.

The Mk3 left-hand pipe has to clear the enlarged starter motor primary case which is why it's lower on that side.

Yes , looks like you are stuck with that downpipe arrangement. I purchased a set from Feked that sits out from the primary a bit more to clear the primary drain screw , which the stock arrangement was touching .
Here's an idea . Make a lower frame tube(s) support piece that can be bolted to the lift itself . Could be wood or metal , I'd start with wood . That way the 2 pieces that contact with the tubes could be carved out lengthwise half- circle to fit with the tubes and hold better eliminating any slip . Voila , no chance of weight on the pipes .

I purchased a set of balanced headers from Andover for my Mk3 which fit pretty good.

How much clearance is there between the existing L/H pipe and the primary case? For any standard 1 3/8" diameter pipe to clear the primary it would likely end up below the level of the frame tube.

All of this exhaust header pipe thinking is below the frame tubes and will likely stay that way . But your post seems to be the difficulty using the lift , to keep the pipes from not touching the lift at all . I've been using wood blocks too but it could easily be perfected carving wood to fit the rails and bypassing the protruding side stand area. The side stand lug is the real obstacle . I'm a woodcarver.
Enjoy.

I think this is a big problem with Norton owners Vs . others using lifts. Nothing lines up .

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice it seems I am stuck with it and will have to perfect my carpentry skills

Or fabricating skills. I made an aluminum cradle to allow lifting my Royal Star Tour DeLuxe on my lift.

A piece of angle iron (actually an old bed frame), couple of pieces of flat steel plate and some rubber pads. Clears the sump breather also when I need to place the Jack under the center of the frame
