hello All

Noticed latley that a sprinkling of Latin is being used more often when posting about Commandos .

This is really good stuff and I find it fascinating that an ancient language is still being used at times. Keep up the latin.

However, 99% of the quotes I dont understand. I would ask posters to please put in the English translation, even in brackets. This would help to put the latin quotes in context.

my latin is limited to the following bit of philosophy

Eternis bastardo el carborundum dustus. ( never let the bastards grind you into the dust) this may apply to unscrupulos parts suppliers

Again please keep this up, it makes interesting posts

best wishes
Bradley

Filius Caniae (Google Translate will do Latin)

Difficile ad adsurgere cum aquilis cum tu hic cum turkeys.

I believe ' nill illigitimi carborundum ' is the polite way to say it

I think the reason your seeing so much latin in the forum is that it's getting so only doctors and lawyers can afford to keep a Norton.

Egad its all Greek to me. Dyslexics under stress flip the middle letters in words.

illic est an eximius ut sulum sceptrum vacuus eximius

Never thought I'd see a photo of Jan Zumbach on a Norton forum, but it's all good ;)

I got into detention at school for writing that on my exercise book

I still smile when I recall the 'Romani Ayunt Domus' sketch from Monty Python's Life of Brian - essential humour IMHO

When the white man came to Australia, they disdcovered what the Aborigines called 'The Nullarbor Plain' which was home to a very conservative tribe whose motto was 'copulavi jacobus, bene sum'.

From the other day - 'The system runs on bullshit' begs the question 'Qui Bono ?' - ( Who benefits ?) - follow the money !
