Engine Number

Hi again, gang..

A good friend has passed on the basket case remains of his 750 Commando to me, and I am hoping to put it back to it's previous glory. First question out of the box is to determine what I have here. The engine number is 212408. Anyone have an idea what year this would be? My guess is a '72. More importantly, is this a Combat engine? Thanks for any help you can provide....!

Yes, it was probably built in late 1972, Is there no date stamp on the frame certification plate?

Apparently, the high power Combat spec. engines were no longer fitted from engine number 211110 onwards.
