Anyone got any worth while engine calculators to play with?
Besides the basic size and rpm for horse power kind.

Interested in the kind that asks for valve sizes, valve duration,
volumetric efficiency, temp and attitude etc to give power guesimates.

Cam profile calculator for dynamic CR per rpm exists, I think.

Also a calculator of mach number of air speed through valves
per engine set up would be informative.

There are some very fancy ones online, just google "engine calculator" and start from there.

From the looks of today's motorcycle industry, most worthwhile engine calculators (engineers) are either in Japan, Italy or Germany.

Thanks guys, I don't want to buy anything, saving for parts as always.
Was hoping maybe someone had their own to plug in data or had
found and saved free online version.

I lost the ones I'd saved with a 'puter re-doing last year.
Just beginning the hunt again, so wishing up a short cut here.
Took half a dozen to get feedback of various risk taking
with detonation or getting away with cheaper components
and smaller sizes. Plugged in factory Combat in some, which
predicted 60 hp, so in reality ball park to go by.

Peel's engine is a weird combo half set up as stump puller low
end purring kitty cat, the other half drag strip only screaming tiger.
Basically calculators imply a hard to kick over 920cc at ~80 hp ~80 ft lb,
until 40-50% more mixture blown through.

One interesting calculation made me go with 38 mm carb,
by assuming max mixture flow of 220 cfm through factory
size intake valve-port ID, gives mach number of .74, ei:
well below sonic shock wave choking, close to optimal
pressure to flow ratio. Only a real dyno test can tell for sure.

Another involved calculator dealt with dynamic CR and octane
and ignition timing. Implied that 112 octane would allow full
advance with up to 15:1 dynamic CR.

Then another calculator to figure out how much water to
burn instead of fuel to make 91 octane act like 116.

Will seek another to meter out water percentage vs PSI
pushing it through a nozzel, then a bucket and watch to
see if really happens as calculated.

My favorite free engine simulation package is the one from Lotus. You can download it at http://www.lesoft.co.uk/index1.html. It's got all the features of their commercial version, but limited to one cylinder and a limited number of sensors and actuators. It's a serious professional engine simulation.

Ken, I jumped into the site and downloaded the free single bore version.
But when I opened its desk top icon I get their warning page stating mine
is not a legit 2006 version and may corrupt something then an offer
to tag another URL for an authorized authenic version. ????
What would you do next?
