Hi
How much end float should an oil pump drive shaft have?
The one I have has 0.003", when measured assembled. it has 0.012 when top cover is removed placed in a vise and shaft float is measured.
However, I see chips and distortion on the edges of the gear teeth. The mating gear is fine, which is odd unless someone has replaced it. The other gears are fine, and the body seems ok, no big wear marks or gouges in the walls. .
I was told this pump had low pressure and I think I am seeing why.
Is it possible to get just a shaft and gear and fit it or is buy new or find a good used one?
