should I use them or not ? Will it take away from the Originalty of the bike?? PS how do you post pictures??

YES*

See the third "sticky" post from the top of this topic list for how to post photos.

*I avoid rubber bits from Emgo, as they perish quickly. Some of the flimsy chrome bits can start rusting prematurely also. All else seems okay to me.

6 volt coils were ok so far for 4 years running.
Muffler rubbers as Grand Paul alluded to broke w/in 600 miles.
Replaced w/ Andover Norton parts from Old Britts. So far so good.
Emgo petcocks crapped out. Oring swelled and was afraid I'd snap off the lever
going from open to close. Scrapped them for BAP's from Waldridge Motors.
They have periodic sales which are great buys. Save up and strike all at once during the sale.
BIG SAVINGS!!!!!!
After the Emgo parts that failed I just spent a little more and did the Andover Norton thing.
I've also heard the pea shooters chrome won't hold up as well as better named brands.
For these Andover Norton or Wassel or contact Commando Specialities, Duane has nice exhaust systems.
Hope this helped

NO!

I'm not sure how they do it but Emgo rear brake shoes actually make Commando's speed up.

Unclviny

unclvinny,
maybe they are prelubed for easy installation.
Couldn't resist the opportunity

I have Emgo pistons in my 850. They were highly recommended and I have no regrets.

Also have Emgo head pipes.. chrome doesn't last long, but they fit OK.

Have had Emgo silencers in the past, they tend to crack welds.

So, I guess it depends..

Emgo pistons?!!?

Surely Emgo doesn't make pistons. Meaning these were made...where, and by whom?

No thanks.

Nothing wrong with Emgo for lower risk applications but pistons? Nuh-uhh. :(

And were do you think most all the other std type piston are made?

Pistons sold through Andover Norton as OE parts are made by a reputable European manufacturer, Gillardoni.

Emgo stuff is like anything else made West of the Pacific-some things are very good and some things are pure crap. I have an Emgo cast Lucas-replica taillight. I've seen dozens of them on Nortons and other British machinery. Not much to screw up there. I also have a pair of Dunstall replica megaphones I got from GPZ. They weigh a ton and when I cleaned them up, the Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish I used ( by hand with a rag, not steel wool or an electric polisher) wore through the chrome and down to the nickel in a couple of spots. The chrome plating is apparently micro-thin. I doubt Emgo makes anything other than their packaging. They likely buy everything from outsource supply houses and market it under their brand name.

ZFD, I suppose you mean Gandini & Figlio - Milano (GPM). They started making pistons for (Dunstall) Nortons nearly 40 years ago.

I'd like to expand your statement by saying anything else made West OR East of the Pacific... 8)
