During the "exploration" of my recently purchased 1974 Commando
I have find 3 wires with BULLET Connectors- disconnected (and NOT insulated) from the harness in the forward part of Batterybox-
Colors are uncertain GREEN and PURPLE ??-
BROWN-
BROWN and BLUE ??
Other two wires With insulated SPADE Connectors (on the rear part of the same Bbox)
Colors WHITE and BROWN ??
WHITE and RED

at first electrical test ALL appear be RIGHT and WORKING in the Electric system
-Starts -turning signals F and R- HB and Tail Lights F and R -forget to see only the Brakes light
anyone on the forum have the same situation ?? before I rack my brain on wiring diagrams
I have a 1972 Wiring diagram and I am uncertain if some modifications was introduced on 1973-74 models
Cheers

Green/Purple [GP] Interpol model circuit only (check GP on wiring diagram)

Brown [N] Brake light circuit (check rear brake light operation?).

BROWN and BLUE ??

Edit: (Disregard my question re: the 2MC) That Brown/Blue wire could be for the auxiliary socket marked on the diagram as: "Battery Charging Point or Power Point". If the power point is connected, then that Brown/Blue is probably the Interpol circuit 'NU' wire?

I'm guessing the White/Brown could in fact be a faded White/Purple? If so, both it, and the White/Red are not used.

The 1972 wiring diagram can also be used for '73 & '74 models as there isn't any '1974' wiring diagram.

I have just installed/ing a new (olbrits) harness and found a green/blue(purple) spare complete with a red (+earth) in that vicinity.... I put it down to a "spare" that could be used for what ever.. Also in the front area of battery box (with new harness) found a purple/black?? (horn)with a complimentry red. So that got used for horn, relay with extra wires to horn in original position.. There are no rules unless you are "counting rivets"

There are a few wires spare to accomadate siren/horns/police equipment that are (spares).. If you have a wiring diagram it will make things a bit clearer,..

Tanks to all for replies-
evidently cooper aren't so expensive in the 70'-NOW i will insulate all this wires
I suppose that my 1972 wiring diagram is correct also for 1973- 1974 models

When I only had the Haynes manual that is what I did, not much change other than which side the 2 handlebar switch clusters are fitted.
