If you want to see some really shocking E-BAY prices , just look at anything that (Norvilmotorcycles) are selling!
The danger is they could buy the bike listed & end up breaking it for 10K plus on their pricing.]
Yes I raised that one a while ago and they have fallen into the trap of charging close to new list for some of their parts. I heard it's the daughter that runs that side of things so maybe its her estimates that are even more optimistic than the old mans.
Have a look at E- BAY item number 350466973554.from Norvilmotorcycles.
A USED, BARE ,Cylinder Head for a Norton Dommie SS with all the Top Fins Drilled (Lightened)
A snip at £650.
This is a very rare part! Don't you know that? :?

"The Brits have moved up into being for collectors and investors that have the extra money to deal with them. The only poor people that have them now are those who bought them 25-50 years ago and hung onto them."

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. I guess the only thing to do is keep riding the Commando until some collector offers me more money than I can refuse. :) Problem is I think I may be at a point where if it weren't for the Commando, I might not even ride motorcycles. :(

Ain't that the truth. I don't think anything modern does it for me. But the Commando...............

Ditto, except I do have a hankering for a triple of the early Triumph type! Trouble is they cost even more to put right than a Commando and would mean another 5 year learning curve before I was happy with it.

Yes, very true, but life can be short and you'll be dead a long time (that's an old one I know, but true).
I had a brush with the grim reaper 7 years ago, and I've gone from 1 bike to 5 bikes, and one of them is a T160. Now, if I can afford it, within reason I buy it (I apologise for the philosophical speel).
I have to agree with you though, the original bike wasn't "right" for me, and I have spent a lot of time and money (incl a big bore kit) getting it to my liking, but it's a marvelous machine and very different to a Norton as you would expect.
I think I will always favour the Norton though....it's in my blood.

Do I regret buying the T160, no. :D

Thanks Reggie. Unfortunately I've always been one of those who always ends up fulfilling ambitions way too late. Put simply, I spend too much time thinking about doing it! Not had a brush with the Reaper but been off the bike for 15 months now due to a vasc problem (small toe eventually fell off!) Still too sore to get a boot on although hopeful I will get out this year. Grateful its not the kicking leg.

F***K Keith

That sounds awful. I have had a crap year with my health but bits falling off
Hoping to manage a full season CRMCC & a couple of vintage meetings plus Beezumph
(some hope)
(as the old football pools saying goes any 8 from 10)
(I havn't spoken with shmbo yet! )
but hey, got to have something to look forward too.

Take care

all the best Chris

Thanks Chris. Sorry shouldn't have mentioned it but I've had the odd mail from people wondering where I was last year. I knew what was going to happen and it was quite funny when it did detach completely. Anyway have had better years but thanks to a great petrolhead surgeon and the NHS I was replumbed early October from groin to calf with a 65cm wound and 110 clips. I'm sorry to hear about your health and hope its under control and youll be out racing this year. We will meet one day if only so I can drool over your racers. Best of everything for 2012. Keith
