Drive Chain Oiler

I have read a lot about drive chain oilers and whilst I'm mucking around in the area of the primary etc on my Mk3 850, I wonder what the original set up was with this model, ie, did they have a chain oiler as standard??

There was no chain oiler fitted to the 850 MkIII.
