Don't buy Chinese tyres for your military trucks

Found an interesting discussion today about the poor performance of much of the Russian support vehicles.

Basically they are saying that photos of vehicles with burst tyres seem to point to a combination of using cheap Chinese copies of a Michelin design, and poor maintenance, resulting in sun-rotted sidewalls which cannot cope with low pressures and mud.
There's also some discussion about corruption in the Russian army as well. The writer seems to know his beans.

Nothing like getting somebody else to do the field testing on your equipment and getting paid for it too. Remind me never to but Cheng Shin tires again.

I have nothing but the highest regard for the "Pagoda De-luxe" chicken-chaser special :D

Seriously, the Russian campaign is looking pretty farcical in many ways - the Su-34 pilot recently captured was so fat I can't believe he would have passed any aircrew medical in the West...

Stalin said quantity has a quality all of its own. Seems to be the only quality they have (thank god).

Talked to my local tyre man two days ago. Said there is a supply problem. Could be worse as four of the major European manufacturers have plants in Russia. According to him.

Yup. No Stinko bike tires for me either.
