Donald Trump? Stranger thing have happened in the USA..

A lot of people protesting against President Fart didn't have the right to vote. Alien residents, like me (UK citizen), don't and many of the people directly affected by him becoming President are also not US citizens. Most European countries (though not the UK) cancel your native citizenship if you take on another one, so many people living in the US on immigrant visas often choose not to take out US citizenship.

Evasion ?
Where did you say that - about anything I said, specifically. ??
I'm merely spectating, for what is rapidly becoming a circus act in goodness knows how many acts. !

More evasion. You know what I meant. I said it.

If you were "merely spectating" then you would not have made any post at all.

But no, you say a riot wasn't a riot, that a grandmother could do better, and then you throw up a picture of Bannon, and imply that he's "up to something" awful.

Ya got nuthin. No specifics, no facts, just name calling and hate.

so you can hold a dual citizenship BUT DON'T so you cant vote. than you IMHO have NO rite to complain and neither do any one else that is not a citizen. try doing ANYTHING in other country's like own property or a business. i know Mexico as a non citizen you sure cant own property. here you want to revert to name calling ( typical left ) with fart so why don't you carry your but back to the wonderful country of ol blity or better yet how about somilia. after coming here and making a great life for your self and family without getting involved in it all you see fit to do is bitch about OUR POTUS this round. IMHO come here and integrate along with assimilate instead of just reaping the rewards and expect us to bend over backwards to kiss butt and learn other language's. what happened to in Rome do as the Romans. you sure won't find any sympathy from me on your complaining.

Perhaps someone can point out what John has really lost the plot about here ??
A minor 'riot' which was barely even reported suddenly becomes his whole focus !
Hate is a strong word, when amusement seems to be the order of the day... !
Are you suggesting this was official Democratic Party policy ???
And when the attending inauguration crowds were described as the biggest ever - 2 pics compared - nyet !!

BTW, have you READ the bios and comments on John Bannon, and some of the appointees to the circus in Washington. ??? The BBC tends not to mince their words, unlike the USA press...

I apologize to Access Norton.
It was my error to think that Rohan would engage in a conversation.
We all know that he can; it's disappointing to find that he won't when it comes to defending his political prejudices.

Why would anyone here be seriously interested in political rants ? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a motorcycle forum.
About my only interest in this subject is that I pay more taxes in the USA than Mr Trump does, it seems....

The news is full of Trump stuff for folks to read and digest to their hearts content.
We could never cover a fraction of it.

Although, just heard that the proposed Secretary of Education has been condemned as below expectations.
That is just bizarre ?

Although I will copy over a post from the other Trump thread here, as testament to the quality of the coverage of the BBC's World Service. Maybe you don't get this coverage domestically in your neck of the woods ?

In case you don't have access to international news John, Trump's (and Bannons) ban on muslim immigration into the USA has not been taken well overseas - many nations have taken it as a declaration of war on islam.

Iran has fired off a ballistic missile test, and declared it will never actually START a war.
Although that also has to do with Trump also reneging on Irans nuclear program stuff and sanctions.

Diplomacy comes from many years of quiet work, not from a bull-in-a-china-shop approach.
Lets see if we can now get to next weekend without WW3 being formally declared. ?

Although, did I see Trump suggesting the US would send in the military if Mexico didn't pay for the wall !!
How to win friends and influence people....

Well, Windy, at least I can speak and write the English language (with its US variations) without dozens of wrong word selections, mis-spellings, mixed up singular and plural words and weird sentence construction. Just look at the header of this topic , "thing have" as an example.

I have a UK citizenship (of course) and a US one. Most of my blood family live in NZ. Maybe I need a third passport- we have been talking about it. Lets see how it goes here. I heard the speed traps are pretty bad in NZ. Here nobody really cares if I do 80 90 all day. Just kidding. I am stuck here, not too bad

I do have to admit I was a poor English student but I hope I got my point across. if you come here to reap the rewards along with many others than you should become a citizen and participate in how it is run and not just sit back and complain and call names.in your case having the opportunity without loosing your UK is just crazy. look at some that have come here, they have given up EVERYTHING to come here looking for a better life. the sad part is most of them seem to know our constitution better than what our piss poor education system teaches now days. this is more of the left taking over the education system. there WAS a class called Americanism v communism but it has all but disappeared. dumb them down so you can control them seems to be the agenda. Johnson's great society was one of the WORST things done as it has created multiple generations of dependency on uncle sam and NOW it is a you owe me and a victim mentality. IMHO this is part of where the open borders is coming from and the entitlement thinking. one of the best example of stupidity was after the first election of BHO, a black woman was after a $5000 check and when she was asked where BHO got it from she answered HIS STASH .

We recently had a storm in South Australia which blew over some transmission towers and caused an electricity black -out. Suddenly renewable energy sources became an issue about energy security. It would not have mattered WHERE the power was generated, the result would have been the same. Conservatives and the supporters are great spin merchants - a baby farting at a protest against Trump would have been major riot, if the left were involved.

I humbly apologise for my spelling- somehow I don’t have a PhD in English Literature!

The President of The United States believes Brexit will work out “very, very good for Ireland” but made an embarrassing gaffe by comparing the Irish border to his plan for a wall separating the US and Mexico.
Who would like to have been a fly-on –the –wall and eavesdropped the beautiful explanation when he was taken aside by the Irish PM and told that they were not the same thing . . . . .

Trump is probably the lesson we all needed. His politics are probably no different to those of Rupert Murdoch - LOOPY and RIGHT WING. There is always one thing to remember - 'if you have a victim's mindset, you will become a victim'. I know what I think about politics these days and I am not afraid to speak out. People who avoid voting are idiots.

If you loathe someone, then everything they do is a potential gaffe. If you like someone, then every gaffe is a refreshing deviation from the traditional. At some point, give some examples of mistaken policies and back them up with an argument of some type. Calling trump "LOOPY" is just hyperbolic nonsense. It's not criticism. It's an insult.

* Pick a person to criticize, explain his policy/agenda/decision, then show why it's wrong or can't work.

OR

* Pick a person to criticize, call him a bunch of names, then act like you've proved something.

It's your choice to use either of these formats. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that the people who don't share your loathing read your comments and confuse your loathsome insults for criticism. (That goes for every person, not just Trump)

It is sort of funny how we defend our political beliefs rather like faith. We like to think we base our politics on fact but they mostly based on about
the same amount of fact as our support for our favourite sports team.
Mind you, Im not much different than anybody else on this!

To quote a famous Margret Thatcher speech on her election as prime minister in 1979:

"Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."

The trouble is most politicians either don’t know the truth if it bites them in the bum, or they do but prefer to ignore it

With politicians, there are always two stories - the one the public gets told, and the one in the background. One lie causes more lies, and every politician has to play the game, or get it in the neck. Victoria is relatively free of corruption, but in the background there is a relationship between police, criminals, lawyers and politicians - which only becomes visible when you hear disparate pieces of news in the media and hearsay from local people. If you never go near a local business person, you would be completely unaware.
