Dominator baffles

Dumb question time: does the unbaffled version have anything inside it at all or is it just basically a stainless cone which has been cut and tig welded?

Does anyone have a contact for getting baffles? In a new neighborhood which means I do need to quieten the bike a bit. Cheers.

Putting baffles in megaphones is wrong in so many ways.
If you don’t enjoy the pure raw sound of the megaphones, you’re either dead or deaf.
The whole point of the megaphones are for the sound and effects. Not to mention they look badass.
I’d rather see someone put short pipes on a Dominator then to use baffles in megaphones.

I love the sound of my Dominator with the open megaphones. But I also love the sound of my commando with the catless short mufflers. Each has a purpose, the Dominator is suppose to be mean and in your face.
Just my opinion.

Voodoo, I’m interested to know if you can detect any difference in performance with the megas vs the de cat shorties.

So I guess my questions are:
Have you ever run shorties or similar on the Dommie, if so how do they compare?
Or
Simpler... how does your Commando compare to your Dommie in terms of performance? I realise the airbox is different so it’s not a ‘clean’ comparison, but still, I’d like to know.

My dominator has the megaphones as you know and my commando SF has the catless motad shorties. You can definitely tell the difference in performance between the two bikes.
The dominator has better throttle response, and more pull. And of course more sound.

Have you ever ridden your commando with the long catted mufflers? On a factory tune?
Then went to catless shorties with revised tune?
That’s the best way I can describe the difference between my two bikes with the different exhaust.
I would like to possibly put megaphones on my commando and I thought of it, but sometimes it’s nice to take the commando on a cruise.

My go to bike is almost usually the dominator.

I also need to mention that I strictly run 100 octane race gas in both bikes. I never use pump gas.
And I also run a Bosch coil, Richards plug wires and NGK iridium spark plugs in both bikes.

That’s interesting, thanks Scott.

I’ve never ridden my 961 with stock silencers and map though !

Scott, I do get around a bit with work you know, so I might just take you up on that offer one day!

Agree with you Eddie perforated baffles but no lagging it slows the exhaust gasses on two strokes it makes a lot of difference
