Hi, I bought item 222641095260 a used petrol cap but the seller sent a request for $100 US to send to me in Oz
Would there be a member willing to purchase this item on my behalf please, cheers, David

Hi, it was cancelled by the seller because he didn't want to post it direct, too lazy, I still want the cap!

That listing also showed two caps that did ship to Australia for about $20 to $25 postage. #332262596974 and #202043408710. Also, the BMW R models from the R90S era used a very similarly styled interchangeable cap made by the same company as the Norton one, and use the same rebuild kits. See #263191006325 or #263196313833. If you're in a jam, you might be able to find one of those BMW ones closer to home. Or if you buy the one you first posted about and have him send it to me, I could then mail it to you for postage cost, I assume about $20 to $25 (U.S.).

According to ebay policy, the seller can only charge actual shipping costs. I frequently see inflated shipping costs on ebay. Makes me wonder why it is allowed to continue. Below is what is supposed to happen when shipping and handling charges are inflated.

".....your listings may be removed and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account. Keep in mind that you could also lose your PowerSeller or Top Rated Seller status."

While that is all true, ebay allows you to set your own HANDLING charges. The buyer sees only ONE total for "shipping and handling".

I ALWAYS include a handling charge for items that I have to pack carefully and/or double-box, as it can cost a good few bucks to ship gas tanks, wheel assemblies, and especially engines. You can charge WHATEVER AMOUNT you want! It is up to the customer to calculate shipping before bidding.

I'm with Grandpaul on this one. eBay has implemented draconian policies, which, punish the small time player who just wants to rid the garage of some extra bits. The wholesale UPS/FedEx accounts (and I have UPS, FedEx and USPS accounts) offer deep discounts to accounts with bigger volume. eBay expects you to package/ship/insure at ridiculously low prices. Even when you clearly state the necessary charges in your auction text, the whining ensues, fueled by ebay championing the buyer, and villainizing the seller. Like the guy in Montreal who whined a streak after he bid and won a Commando seat I had listed, even when my auction said clearly "only ships to US", because anything bigger than 5 lbs. is costly/pain in the neck. He was a "victim" How about READ and AGREE TO the conditions before bidding? :?: :!: I have 774 100% positive feedbacks, I've sold cars, bikes, parts, etc. But, mostly, I can't be bothered to endure their policy inconsistent with a small volume seller, so, into the metal scrap dumpster/recycle plastic bin it goes. Less drama.

I purchased a number of things from the same seller, had nothing but trouble, said he would combine shipping and ship Global priority, then wouldnt.
Then he cancelled my winning bids and blocked me from bidding, pretty strange.

That must be your one "neutral" feedback on him. Rather uncomplimentary, yet his rating still shows 100% positive? Lately I've been paying a lot more attention to a sellers feedback.

no, that wasnt me, but that buyer who did had same issues, check his neutral feedback comment, wouldnt combine on 2 items.

All sorted guys, an Oz member of this forum has offered me one, another member also offered to send me one, many thanks to everyone, David
