Thanks, not so sure about that mod, I'll have to think on it. Maybe less bite/servo effect but that assumes that the friction material's steel backing plate in fact deflects/bends and, until the pressure of the uncut trailing part of the piston snaps the leading edge of the pad back into parallel with the piston's surface, the pad is even more likely to bite and have that servo effect. The mod is distinguishable in function from that of a four or six dissimilar diameter piston set up where the PSI applied is increased for the smaller surface area of the trailing pistons. Here there are just two pistons any PSI differential front to back depends on deflection, if any, of the steel backing the friction material. Perhaps simply chamfering the leading edge of the pad may accomplish the same thing?
