Defeating parking lights

I want to eliminate the connection at the Ignition switch that activates the parking lights. It seems obvious that I could easily do that if I pull the switch but, to be honest, it's a total PITA to do and I'd rather cut a connection elsewhere if I could find it. I have looked at the wiring diagram several times but I cannot find that particular wire - at least, it is not apparent to me.

Any body know of an easy place to access/disconnect that particular circuit?

Since you're not trying to eliminate the park (pilot ?) light position on the switch, just pull the bulb.

Even if the front position bulb is removed, the tail lamp and instrument bulbs will still light if the switch is turned to the "Parking lights" position.

The easiest way to do it in my opinion (so the tail and instrument lamps work at the "ignition and lights" position) would be to move the brown/green spade from terminal 3 to terminal 4 (so brown/green is common with the blue/yellow) on the ignition switch.

Oh ya, right.

Bummer! I was trying to avoid pulling the switch but that looks like the only way… :(

You may be able to access the switch terminals from below without removing it.

Not sure I understand the problem. If you don't want to activate the parking lights don't use that position of the ignition switch. Not that easy to turn the key to that position anyway with your left hand.
An interesting trivia - early '72 (and also '71) production wiring with the switch in this position you can turn on the headlight with the toggle switch in the headlight (mine does this). Later '72 wiring and all subsequent models this cannot be done.

I have changed the 2 position switch to another Lucas 2 position which switches between 2 outlets and feed the pilot from one terminal, main from another, in the left position I get pilot only and to the right I get main only. The switch also has a common on position which I use for the instrument lights so they are on in both switch positions. This leaves parking as rear light only with no pilot but as my pilot is a 23W daylight running I do not want it on anyway. The benefit is that I get the 23W pilot off when the main is on so the alternator has a chance to keep up.

Lucas 31780 57SA is the one I have used, looks the same from the outside and is the same toggle and 2 position.
