D'bag Primary

Looks clean. So you are going to run it without a primary cover so the world can see it. Mine is totally covered up. Perhaps a clear acrylic primary cover. Or an outer cage. The HD guys do this. :|

Well I like that. But a clear acrylic cover would be so cool. You'll find the weight savings and no oil leaks a big plus. Don't forget the pushrod seal to keep oil out.

Love the weight savings here. Next project will be get rid of lead-acid and move to Lithium.

If theyre the Li Po's ? ? they have a habbit of spontaeneous combustion on charge - The Multi cell ones .
The thing gets confused if one cell lags , and keeps charging past critical mass . The next thing you know ,
kapoof .
( this is the silly R. C. model Aircraft etc charger / battery pack set ups. For all I know M/C ones may be o.k.
but Id deffinately be checking first . ) .

What a mess inside spring missing bolts loose drum gouged to buggery. I had this old plug at 90. The left shocker bolt was loose as well .

I'll tidy that up the morns night.

Is the bike new to you? It's always worth remembering that when you get on a new / old bike, your safety is only as good as the last bloke to put a spanner (wrench) on it.

And on a 40 year old bike, there will have been a few of 'em!!

On our race bikes we thread lock wire through the springs so if they break they cannot move and jam the wheel.

Another bit of excitment which happened to me was the lining coming complelely off. This actually is not uncommon with bikes that are stored in damp conditions. The bonding glue slowly deteriates.

This was on a bike that had new rear shoes only about 4 years earlier. Not forty year old!

We rivit the race bike lining as back up as well.
