Am trying to find a cylinder barrel for my bike, have already found a commando head.

A gent has a few barrels, but they are out at 60 thou and probably not OK for re-pistoning.

Has anyone one here good or bad things to say about re-sleeving the commando barrels ( if so what :) ) ?, spun, stainless or chromed ?.

Thanks ina advance.

Hi Josh,

I've only seen spun liners for Commando cylinders, but if you could find some....Nikasil sputtered would be nice. I see several used cylinders on e-bay, even with standard bore. I would think that option is cheaper than sleeving. Either way you're probably going to need new pistons as well. You didn't mention 750 or 850.

Piston bore part ain't the issue if re-bored to 60 over already, the lack of metal left to connect the cooling fins together is and no mere sleeve can solve that. There have been funny stories of seeing the sleeve going up/dn between the fins, just for how long remained to be seen. Expand you scope of shopping vendors and online.
