I've never heard it called anything other than the nose of the crank"Nose"
The vernacular...
In native tongue, is this self explanatory?
Is the PTO end of a crank shaft known as the "butt" or "tail"?
Seriously, trying to keep up...

Correction. 9/16". (Camshaft is 5/8" (0.625").
Edit:
The seal O/D is 1.1/16" (26.99mm).
