Cracking frame serial numbers please.

What series of frame numbers were known for cracking at the steering neck? I have a 1971 machine with earlier model characteristics. ('69-'70)

Don't know the numbers but the most common ones were the 1st commando frames and they are easy to spot as they didn't have the reinforcement tube below the main backbone tube that ran from the bottom of the neck to the central down tubes.

If any of the newer ones with the lower reinforcement tubes still cracked I hadn't heard about them so maybe some one else can fill in.

factory recall frame

Hello just thought I would let you know 1968-69 Norton commando frame had a recall back in the day for this issue. Anyone with this frame could bring their bike back to the dealer and have the frame replaced no charge. Found this out from Matt at CNW I have a 68 750 commando which had the defective frame. I have a new frame thanks to Matt. Doxford.
