Cracked ES2 case

Ok, I got over zealous while pushing in the bearing and the crankcase cracked. I suspect there may have been a hairline crack there before I started, but nonetheless I broke the bugger. This is a matching number bike project that I just acquired. 9 boxes of parts. A real puzzle. I am bummed that I already broke it. Anyways, do you think this case is salvageable? Anyone out there a good enough welder to help me? Otherwise I will need to hunt for replacement cases. Included are a few pictures of my mess. FYI: 1962 ES2

I dunno..... Anyone thinking laser welding like me? That's in a bad spot.
 
I didnt see any cases on ebay/uk. It needs to be for a featherbed frame. can you send me the link?
 
If you can find a pair of cases, it will be less headache than trying to weld/repair yours, but more heartache losing the matching numbers.

What is the ramification (legal and ethical) of transferring your numbers to another pair of cases?

I’ve had much worse than that welded up before! Definitely repairable. As already posted, distortion is the biggest issue, and will necessitate machining work.

IMHO, I’d get it laser welded.

If it were me, I would machine it out on my CNC mill, leaving the bolt holes in place, machine a new centre section the same shape, and TIG weld it in place, then line bore it in line with the timing side as a guide to keep straight and in alignment.
How did you support the case when trying to press the bearing in, if you support it correctly and a bit of heat, this shouldn't have happened?
If supported correctly and the bore is correct for the bearing the bearing boss would have been in compression not tensile stress as in the photos, in compressive strength it is a lot stronger than tensile.
