Does the Corbin gunfighter advertised for Nortons on the Corbin site a direct fit or do you have to make fabrications/alterations to fit. Reason I am asking is that i would like to go back and forth between stock as the mood fits. Mine has an older Commando seat now, so hinge isn't an issue.

Thanks

From my recollection of using the earlier model Corbin gunfighter seat (non hinged), it is a straight swap between the two. You may need to remove the chrome grab rail behind the stock seat when using the Corbin but nothing more.

The current Corbin seat uses a different set up to install. Your will get a steel cross brace with the seat that mounts between the inner/upper shock bolts. There is a peg in the center of that cross brace that the seat clips into. To remove the seat, you use a key on the seat that disengages the lock mechanism from the peg.

Since the peg on the cross brace will interfere with the stock seat, this peg has the be unscrewed in order for the stock seat to fit.

Can be done pretty easily though.

Some original seat pans may interfere with the cross brace and if this is the case, then the switch gets far more involved since you have to remove the brace from the shock bolts.

I have a Corbin seat on my Mark 3.

As noted above, simply involves installing the Corbin-supplied mounting cross-brace.

However, as I discovered after installing the Corbin, dropping your butt by 2-3 inches makes a big difference in foot position on the existing foot pegs, or at least it did for me at 5'11".

I switched to rear sets and love the set up.

Hi,
Thats the way I make the Corbin fitt my MK3. As you can see, I moved the saddel back aboth 2-3 cm.
Had to make some adjustments underneath the saddle. Then I cut of the nose of the saddle approx. 8-10 cm, I think it was
Think the result was pretty good
