"Conversations"

If I initiate a "conversation" with another member, is it publicly visible or only visible to the person(s) I have selected. IOW, is it sort of like a private message? I was trying to send a PM to a member but I haven't figured how to do that.

Only the person(s) selected.

A Conversation is the equivalent of the old 'PM'.
