Not what you asked, but I can't recommend John Bould's Lansdowne Engineering Damper Cartridges highly enough!

+1. And a bargain price compared to the alternatives.

Im in the Landsdowne camp as they are within my budget, or what passes for a budget.
Would be interesting to ride a bike with other offerings as a comparison.

Lansdowne for me too ... great product great service ... not answer to your question sorry ...

I'm another one, went with the Lansdowne, great product, showed up in a couple weeks, easy to install, works well, and was half the price of the Consentino.
I'm not sure if I'd ever be aggressive and astute enough to tell the difference between the two in a side by side comparison.

I am using a consentino set up on my 74. I have the 40lb springs in right now the kit comes with 2 sets of springs and i find then stiff at low speeds but great at speeds that are not alowed.. bike handles exelant at all speeds but will try lighter oil if that doesn't help i will try 32lb springs next. I know they are a bit pricy but well worth it.. Can be adjusted infinitely.

FWIW
I met Mr Consentino. He seems to be a good guy offering a great product.
His is a small "locally owned" (local to NJ/NYC) business. There is no doubt about the high level of quality
to his fork inserts or products.
If I ever want to spend the money to totally upgrade my Commando's suspension, it'll be Consentino cartridges for me. Sure would love to ride a bike with the "normal street riding" 30 lb/in set-up to see how it varies from stock.
