Had some fun in the mountains with the old bike last weekend. Minor delay with a charging problem but overcame
that and it ran smooth and strong pulling up some long steep mountain grades at 90 or better.
The Madass brake was good, just lay a finger on the lever to brush off ten or twenty mph if overcooking it into the corner.
In all we put on about 800 miles in two days. I though it looked good alongside the MV and the Vincents.

Commando Weekend

Gawd we're looking old. At least the bikes always look the same or better each year!

Man, would that have been a parking lot gawker's paradise! What was your itinerary? I'm planning on going up starting with Abbotsford to Prince George. Any good alternatives to 97?

If you have some extra time you could do the Duffy lake loop, half on the way up and half on the way back should you be coming back to Abbtsford. I did the loop on the Commando as a day ride a few years ago. That was a good ride, just shy of 400 miles, as I recall.
The Fraser Canyon part has spectacular scenery and fairly gentle curves, but lots of them. The scenery on the Duffy lake stretch is quite different but equally spectacular and the road is quite challenging (in a good way)
