Have just fitted a new set of seamless mufflers on my 1970 roadster, purchased from Commando Specialities on Ebay, these mufflers are awesome, fitted straight on and sound quite sweet.

Had a pair of toga's fitted, had issues with the RH muffler / kick start clearance on the toga's, no issue with the new ones.

Well done Commando Specialities.

Has anyone got one of their new type pivoting kick starts fitted ?, are you happy with it ?.

I've got a set of those mufflers new in box ready to be installed..I'm glad to hear they're nice!

One of the two mufflers I got originally had some marks on it so Duane sent out a replacement right away, free of charge. Good stuff.

That seems to be the standard response from the gay community "down under". You sure you don't want to paint your bike yellow? Lmao

I don't think my ass could take that much of a pounding, when I was younger and in the Navy perhaps, but not now. :D

Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em.[*]

Had an interesting day, the bike was not riding well, a bit lame on the throttle, after about 50 miles the bike started surging and farting, sounded like fuel starvation, nursed the bike home, pulled the fuel taps out, they were both blocked, the rubber seal was blocking the holes, drilled them out, a couple of sizes bigger, and the angry bike from last week had returned.

The fuel taps were new, well 400 miles old, oh yeh, clocked over 400 miles today.

I purchased a full exhaust system from Jamie at Commando Specialties. Nice quality, great sound and wonderful service. Now if I could just find a nice mudflap for my front fender.......................................

Which taps you have?

Josh - Might I suggest a making a sturdy backing plate for that QLD license plate? There is an incredible amount of jumping around on the tail lamp assembly and I think it will crack that plate right around your mounting screws. This happened early on to my plate as well as the original minimal stock mounting bracket. There can be about 1-2" of deflection when the bike is idling. I grafted on a large late Matchless G80CS plate to mine.

I agree with russ. I got rid of that fiber plate that came on mine and made a piece of AL same size as the plate, mounted it with nylocks and then used some nuts as standoffs to get the plate above the mounting bolts.

I noticed that you have cut the bottom of the passenger peg rubbers so they will not make contact with the silencers. I have been wondering about that as mine make contact currently. Now I know it's not just my setup.

Hi Guys, Just wanted to clue you in on the mufflers from commando specialties. I bought a pair about a year ago, the seamless ones. They were on my bike for one season and the baffles came lose and started to rattle and the weld where the cone body is welded to the clamping tube broke. I e;mailed specialities and he replaced them free of charge. I,am now noticing a strange vibration noise again, I think the baffles again. Just thought I would give you a heads-up !!! Hershey :(

See hobot's M1 cure. But wear your safety glasses, I don't want anyone shooting their eyes out.

Hershey,

In the ebay listing he mentioned that these mufflers were modified from the previous batch, to fix a couple of problems the silencers previously had, so fingers crossed, but they look and sound fantastic.

I am certain the Commando Specialities guy would visit this website, perhaps he could update us ?.

Sending out new pipes when there is a problem sounds like pretty good customer service to me.

When buying items, shit happens, but how the sellers deals with the issues is often vastly different, Bravo Zulu's to a seller that replaces items outright.

These are the best we've had as the factory has made a few changes at our request and they really did a great job

+1 On Commando Specialties seamless mufflers. Price is great and can't beat the exhaust note! One year now and no baffle issues...here in Florida's humid climate I do apply chrome polish every week or so to keep them pristine. Mounting was a snap with perfect fit...no forcing or flexing in any direction to snug up to a tight fit. Great deal IMHO!!!
