Geantly washed and degreased everything from tank down and now very hard to start and runs poorly. Will not idle and misses with throttle given. Finally got it warmed up enough to ride it and was fine after warm up. Thought everything was dried out and ok but this mornings start up was the same. Bike has been a 2 kick bike with no choke or throttle. ‘74 model with a pazon ign and amals.

Any chance something has been knocked loose/disconnected? I'm thinking the carb balancer tube. Any electrical fittings or switch gear with pooled water within? Hit them all with WD40 for good measure. The ign switch if original could be a culprit if water has entered.

Does your carb balancer tube sit above or below the intake manifolds? With the low mount type, water could have pooled with the tube.

Water water water will sit anywhere when washing, just got to be careful where you point that hose, stay away from air filters, coils and ignition, water tight plug leads help.

I rarely use water on bike ( other than off-rd ) or I have had a nasty pasting of muck somehow , just spray on detail & wax , cleaning gets easier with each application to point bugs hardly stick …..
