Why is whenever I see a new Norton they seem to all have burnt oil stains on pipe below motor.
I know there is a tradition of old English bikes marking their spot but if we can make the original one's leak free why can't the new boys do the same.

It looks too even to be oil staining?

Probably (stainless steel) heat discolouration?
