Has anyone got an equivalent modern code for Canary Yellow. I've found a painter for my 72 rebop.

I have just done the same conversion this summer to, back country fuel stations are getting very scarce. How do you find the standard seat, after an hour my inner thighs felt like they were going to explode, found a new Hyde seat much better. Now can ride for hours no gas stops no pain.
Both versions of your bike look smart.
Did you make the tennis raquet holder on your grabrail your self.

Howdy Splatt,
Thanks for the compliment.

The new seat is much better than the Roadster seat and two up we can usually do abot 100-120 miles between stops for beer/coffee.
The little grab strap is a pain and I think it will get the snip!

I got the grabrail/luggage rack made at a local stainless steel company and it only cost 30 bottles of Heineken.

It is another 27 degree day here in NZ and we are of for a ride down the coast.

Cheers

Hello everyone, new member posting alert. Interesting discussion, especially like the orange colour schemes as evidenced by my bike:

Feel free to post a new thread telling us more about the bike. Especially the seat/tank combination.

acadian,

What paint did you use on your barrels? I want to do my 69 in Al or whatever matches the original. Did you take the chrome off the mudguards or are they new painted guards?

It's basic tremclad Aluminum coloured paint on the barrels. The mudguards are the originals, de-chromed, blasted and painted. An interesting note, all the decal work is airbrushed, not stick on. I'll take a detail shot and post, I'm glad the paint shop talked me into it although the stencil took forever to make to my custom sizing.

Looks like tremclad is the CA version of US Rustoleum. I was going to try the VHT, but they have 2 AL colors and I need to see them. I like the idea of the painted mudguards, I could do that much more reasonable than chroming them again, but then I am using Fireflake Blue, but it might not matter. Yes the stencils are a better option than the decals, but I am again looking for a 3 colour scheme, with the black Norton and the gold outline on the tank. That is pretty difficult in a stencil. And then a F/G tank. So there you go.

The orange colour is very nice too, I like it.
