Hi I am installing the airbox in a MK 3 that I am restoring I cannot find a good illustration of the position of the top mount I am assuming it goes on the engine side and it would appear to need a small spacer? Could anyone clarify this for me. Thx Drummer99

Yes, using 3/16" spacer 06.2170 (or washers to that thickness).

SOD IT! I presumed it must go against the flat side, I`ll have to dismantle the whole bike to put it right now......bloody crap parts book!

I doubt it makes a lot of difference but I don't think it would be all that easy to get the bracket behind the frame plate as it is riveted* to the Mk3 airbox, although I could be wrong.

*(Mk1A & 2A bracket had bolts)

This thread brings to light yet another VERY useful aspect of the "Member Rebuilds" section of this (and other) forums: You can see the dis-assembly and assembly processes done by others who have blazed the same trails before; some people even post pix of the mistakes they made on the first (and subsequent) attempt(s)!

'Projects' sections are my favorite.
