I've been thinking about this for some time.

I live in a wet place, about 120 inches annually at sea level, and 150 inches at my place at 3200'. I really enjoy my 40 mile round trip commute with my 41 year old roadster; its fun and saves a lot of gas. But, more often than not, I get caught in the rain, and something about that has puzzled me for a while, until last night.

I got home just after 8, and passed through some light showers about halfway up. Not enough to get really soaked, just from the knees down. What had been stumping me is that every time I get stuck in rain, its my right foot that gets wetter than anything else, every time without exception. This conundrum had me perplexed and unable to sleep, until I had my eureka! moment, and that only after some California pinot noir and a good smoke.

Anybody know what the answer is? Winner gets one quart of fresh Hawaiian rainwater, just pay shipping and handling.

Primary on the left deflects water spray from the front tire? :?:

It's either this or you could just look down for a second while riding and look to see where you feet are.

Norton were designed in England, so for left hand riding. next time ride her on the other side and you'll be evenly wet :D

Going to have a glass of Burgundy wine thinking to it!

Drat. That was my first thought, but dismissed it because of the model year of the bike. I forgot Combat's had the disc.

The advance unit cover acts as an air foil creating a vacuum behind it and drawing in rain over your foot. Duh, who doesn't know that?

I will need your paypal address for the S&H on that rain water.

must be a combination of the rotor and the point cover... so its a tie and you both win a quart

No No No! Much different. Longer smoother transition on the drive side. Anyhow, ya better mount your gopro. We're gonna need more proof than just some epiphany while slurping down a box of wine.

No no no...I don't share well. Look me up at Atop Waikiki in Honolulu, January '14, for happy hour. I'll be the one in the Norton t-shirt. You can buy me a couple of taps. Welcome to join us pvisseriii. DonOr is buying!

I'm on the Big Island, though my wife just used all our miles sending herself to san francisco, I should have enough by then, and waikiki is a blast. remind me next december...
cheers,

All right! We need Jerry to hook us up with a vote link. I stand by my AAU cover airfoil and you can stick with your weak "disk flinging water in only one direction" (at the foot) theory.

Other than that, the wife and I would give it all up just to go and argue it for a month in dreary old Hilo or Honolulu. It would be tough to leave Michigan in March but we all have to sacrifice.

Maybe Jerry has a windtunnel with water jets......Leaving Michigan in March is almost as bad as leaving Minnesota in January.

Finally, we are in agreement. Cheers!
