bill 34 years worth.........me be in gutter/jail without her
mebbe i just keep all the bikes reason says RE would plunge in value as soon as leave showroom floor...

Now that's what I call using the old noggin' alan. I like old smelly bikes much more anyway because of their refined character.... They only break down at their convenience too.

thanks, men, for helping squash that crazy idea WTF was i thinking! temporary insanity

here mine the last few weeks when having wine i have been thinking of selling it and getting RE Continental GT what ya'll think?
You did a great job on that bike.
The (head verses heart) math is easy.
How long since you finished it verses how many miles on the clock since then.

I went for a ride with a buddy before putting the Commando away for the winter . I made a couple of stupid moves due to lack of sufficient attention - fortunately no harm done . One incident involved traffic stopping suddenly in front of me while my mind was elsewhere requiring some very late braking on my part . ( feel free to vote for me in the next “ who’s the jackass “ contest )
My buddy was behind me watching and thinking “ Come on ! Wake up ! “
Just the way I felt reading through this thread - Glad you woke up and came to your senses !

Don't feel too badly about that incident Richard..... I was riding the boxcar on a back 2-lane passing a car which braked suddenly to turn left.... I was in the process of changing lanes to go around him and had to chop it cramming on the brakes hard and fast. He moved back and I poked it finishing the pass with half the seat sucked up my pants..... Old Wings stop worse than old Nortons and weigh a lot more.... Trust no one on 4-wheels. Feel better now? Life was so wonderful until that.
Sorry OP about disturbing the topic, but I like Richard and felt a cheer up was needed.

What is this thing of what you speak?
Never heard of it - but interested!
Kate designed and had made a tidy flick up footpeg conversion and posted pictures here a couple of years ago. Maybe if she reads this she could chime in.

I will buy that magazine for the article on the Seeley Condor. That would be better than any Commando. I think there were only ever about 5 made. The Seeleu with the G50 motor was the best ever single cylinder British road- racing motorcycle. They were still competitive in the late 1960s. It would still be worth building one today, but there would probably be no race class to suit it.

Probably the easiest bike to build, ever ? My Seeley 850 was easy to build, but a Condor would be a cinch. - With a 6 speed TTI box, it would be beautiful. - So light !
AHRMA has a class for that.

You'd regret selling the Commando as said here. I ride the Interceptor 650 and it's a very good bike but no Commando for sure

Pretty nice looking Norton you have there. Put a pair of FCRs on it. It will feel like you bought a new Norton.

Lay off the nectar of the gods. OR at the very least don't drink and derive.

I am building a poor man’s Condor, using an Egli replica frame and Norton short stroke pushrod single, nearly finished at last. Getting a Condor frame replica won’t be cheap, never mind the motor!!
