What year? I've got a 98 Skidoo Rotax, luv it , but haven't gotten close to 120!!!! Just curious. That Honda sled looks like its right out of a sixties Bond movie.

" that Bonnie looks like it is short a few nuts & bolts "

Curious how any jap bits fell off , usaully inside a week . put it down to inferior metalurgy . :)

Matt, when are you gonna post some pix of your nitro-methane molested 2T pistons?
Maybe Concours should`ve been running bean oil at 5%...

Actually , got about ten of these suckers . The SuperTiger G-15 FI ( front induction ) Methanol Burning glow plug engine .
The most powerfull ( 0.6 hp @ 21.000 , 0.15 cu.in. displacement ) Hp per Litre engine produced.For Years

About 240 Hp per Litre . thats on Methanol / Castor Oil . about 4:1 ratio .

World speed record was about 145 mph in the .15 cu. in , - 2.5c.c. class around 74 .

'We' modified my new one to Miebach specs , same as the fastest at the F.A.I. worlf free flight championships , gives around 23.000 rpm .
'We' carefully ran it in .As it was ' a bit windy ' that school holidays , 'We' waited to fly it in the elliptical taped airfoil dogfight thingo ,
under ' unusual ' barometric conditions . The wind of the tasman coming over Auckland Harbour at a steady 60 knots = Gusting over that
somewhat . Lauched on the 52 ft steel raceing lines from the shelter of the macrocapra hedge , the funneling affect , and peculiar
aerodynamics spiting the thing out into holes in the air , pressures and centrifugal effects had it doing in the vicinity of 1.2 sec. lap ,
which equates to 180 m.p.h.
'One ' was obliged to maintain a firm grip on the control aperatus . :) lines near to breaking strain ,going across downwind

Ordinarilly it would tow the sucker along at about 100 mph with streamer ( towed, for dogfighting ) or 105 plus later when ' NITRO ' became
redilly available in N.Z. and we added ' a dareing ' 10 % nitro to the fuel .

These things gave you a fine consideration of Time / distane as far as moveing things went . and taught you to keep the fingers well clear of the propellor
( Hand started , belt prop with index finger ) 'Misscalculations would stop the engine nstantaeneously from the 20.000 rpm plus, leaveing a imprint of the stopped propellor in the turf .Hose out & restart .Combat bout was 4 minute . 80 cc fuel , later 110 for the 10 % Nitro content increased fuel consumption .

The fatigue on the big end led to it throwing the area between the two lube holes , whilst slipsteaming itself at about 120 mph in a race plane.
The departed 'piece' fed itself through the ypass , mauling the piston skirt , then mutilated the head and scoured the sleeve . in approximately 0.3 sec before the remainder of the big end unhooked . And there was a sudden silence .  Fudge .

The Brothers engine was one of these .

sorry , thats the Glow. see Comp lever version below . Id sent off for this , was sent the Latest Version just out of the F.I. as the RV ' wasnt available at the moment , we hope youll be HAPPY with THIS ' ( shades of Ferrarri , who sent a old geeer in Aus. a 250 LM instead of the 250 GTO he had ordered )

A ' Diesel ' raceing motor . peak power about 18.000 rpm . Fuel Castr (oil) Ether & Kerosene . ( Kero Quality matters ) and Ign. improver ( D.I.I. )
A Fibreglass propellor . starting proceedure , from cold ) was , Flick. Clunk.Flick,Culunk. flick, Yang yang Yang .Observeing the digit the laceration ( clunk ) would eject blood sycronous with the pulse .A ' Finger stall ' or wrapping the two first fingers in tape , is ' the usual practise ' .

Got one of them ( given ) & a new case & spares , traded a FI diesel for another and given a third
( with the crank gone - can get new , $ 27 .0
pity C'do cranks arnt $ 27 :? )

THESE latter ones will be better for dog fights. Theyre a bit sturdier ( observe )

Theres a box or three more . New 21/46es , V-60s ( these dominated the world Champs for Aerobatic ( F2B for over a decade . And rowdey 21/29 5cc raceing glows and 21 /35 Dogfight deriveatives .Some late commie copies of the sextes ( 10 cc aerobatic jobs ) with aerspace metalurgy , machineing and fits .

Why dont ' WE ' do a COMMANDO like That ? :D And all told a hundred odd f the darn suckers . Then theres a grands worth of the est timber in the country
and designs for god knows what thats ' a it advanced ' for the T.V. dinner set to grasp , these days .

Mr. Jaures Garofali, founder of Super Tigre engines
Thats a 2.2 horsepower 10 cc 21.000 rpm engine in his hand . He invented Aluminum ( silicone ) piston , Brass liner Chromed ( A.B.C. configuration )
Enabling those rpms and speeds of 200 mph plus , in 1970 .

It's a 2005 PowerTek 800HO REV chassis, 143hp. It'll display 125 indicated, and past experience with radar runs, accounting for track slippage, 120 is an accurate estimate. Which model you runnin? I had a '99 800 triple that would sing.. and a '98 670HO... and a '94 Formala Z 583.. '91 Mach 1 617.. '89 Mach 1 583..., '87 Formula Plus 521, Yamaha V-Max 530, Rupp Nitro Xenoah 440... etc...

Matt, you posted some data froma Two Wheels mag RZ 350 test, here's some from another one.
T-Ws, July `85 P73; RZ 350 test;
"Its top speed of 198kmh was quickly attained by redlining through the gears."
As in period Commando tests, the final drive gearing selected made a difference to the sprint times vs top-end speed, & usually depended on which characteristic was deemed most relevant for the targeted buyer.

Must`ve been a buzz riding one of those Napier Deltic [2T] powered patrol boats, they were so fast even the U.S. Navy bought them..

Matt, they must`ve bribed these guys too..
Cycle Canada August `85 RZ 350 [taller final drive ratio] 12.93 @102.97; top-end 198kmh [124mph].
Same ball-park figures to a Commando, but better than any [non -racing] Bonneville, best Bonnie test I have seen [Two Wheels]was a `73 T140V [1st gen 750/724cc 5 speed,- pre Meriden/commie soft camming job] 13.2 1/4 mile; top speed 119mph.

Mine is a 98 Formula Z 670. It's prett fast.

GEEZ! I forgot I had one of those too! GREAT engine! The A.R.M rear suspension was too soft for my riding style, even after stronger springs installed. That was my last ROCKIN rotary valve Rotax... moment of silence please...

But...what about my... game show buzzer.. silence.. is not in its scheme of things..L.O.L.

Ok now ya done gone over board, I like that so here's a 2 stroke to confuse us all.
