Hi All,

I need to get a valve spring compressor. Can anyone advise the best (cheapest) here in the US of A for my head.
I looked at the Motion Pro-- seems like a lot $100 for a valve spring compressor.

Cheers -- Jerry

The one I have is from my local NAPA store and they show it as 108.95. Seems like a lot.. I musta had too much Merlot that day :?

It does a fine job, tho I had to make a custom fitting (piece of pipe) to get over the top of the intake springs (rockers in the way).

It's NAPA's Item#: SER383

Rabers has one for $70. Mine is nothing more than a large 'C' clamp with a forked top end to rest on the retainer. It would be really easy to make one from a large clamp with a 2-3 inch length of tube welded on the top and then enough (most) of the tube cut away to allow access to the clips. Of course after you bought the large clamp, the tubing, welding rod, you may have $70 in it!

There are quite a number of them on Fleapay at the moment.

I bought this one a while ago, I think it was less than $40 delivererd:

I just couldn't see popping for $100+ for the number of times I would use it.
