Commando cam on Atlas engine

Hi.
I know that the Commando cam (those with breather valve on drive side) is different from Atlas one (thrust washer, etc.).
The question is if i can use the Commando cam (with breather valve notchs) on the Atlas engine.

Hi Piero,

Yes you can but you will have to find a way to fasten the Atlas sprocket, which is longer. It can be done in 2 different ways:

1) Cut a thread on the plain part where the oil seal normally contact the cam. The Atlas sprocket nut size is 5/8" 20 TPI.
2) Don't modify the camshaft and use the AAU bolt with a dished washer. In this case you can not fit the tacho gearbox any more.
