What say the experts ... recommended way for installing the four Allen bolts on an 850 cylinder? DRY, Blue Loctite, antisieze, or oil? Of course you can't re-torque them after running in, unless you remove cylinder head, a real PITA.

On a "related" note, I just replaced all the cylinder gaskets on my 1999 Buell Cyclone; cause they leaked oil :-( I used "Cometic" gaskets, using the "Hammer Performance method." (Buell and Sportster experts that I admire, see link below)

... i.e. lightly oil the four cylinder head bolts; and torque in sequence 9 ftlbs, then 14, then 22, then 35, and final 42 ftlbs. (for a Buell/Sportster)

Good question........I think ARP lub is good ? on the same way , normally there are washers under the allen bolts heads , but some advised to avoid them thus more thread in ....I had seen some (Ludwig ?) putting some plugs ( teflon ?) on the top to avoid the gasket for crushing ??

+1 for ARP Ultra Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant

I think I have posted this video link before

Having watched the video, I couldn’t fault their logic, so I bought a pot.

It’s expensive, but a pot will last a lifetime, and I think a good investment if it means no thread galling and accurate torque measurements.
