Just need a little prompting here blokes....

I am clearing out the workshop as the Trident project begins to final wind up to completion ~

I found a carton of 932 carbs including new Animal carb bodies ~

Now ~ several have the splash jet with angular cut off rather than the flat/ level cut off ~

Now correct me if I am wrong ~ but isn't the angled cut off used on the Combat engine application where as the level / flat is used on all other Commando engines ~ (??)

Cheers~ Stuart

(As some describe these in different fashions and some confusion may result here..I can post a shot if need be ! )

The 932s that came on my '75 MK III have the slash cut, the new ones I purchased, to replace them, also have the slash; I'm inclined to think that the slash is a 932 thing, but I am sure that I will be corrected if I am mistaken

932's on a combat had the flat spray tubes . most if not all 850's had the slash cut spray tubes and a different needle with 4 id rings. a slash cut spray tube and a early flat spray tub needle will be overly rich.

Stepped spray tubes were supposedly used on the 850 MkIA, IIA and MkIII models that had the Black plastic airbox.

If you post the numbers stamped on the raised pads next to '932' then it should be possible to identify the actual Commando model they were fitted to?

Thanks Men ~ I obviously had it "A about T " ~ and the carb has no additional numbers apart from "932"

Hi Stuart,

Combat carbs are R932/19 and L932/20. That's what Roy Bacon has in his book and what I have on by '72 750 combat. As mentioned they have flat top spray tubes (no cut away).

illf8ed~ Gidday mate ~

I knew it was one or the other ~ and ironically I have both ~ and as the SS inserted rebuilds ont he Commando are working just fine I figure I don't need a library of spares ~ so will sell off shortly ~
