Information please.
A engine with number 203006 is a Combat?
Thank you.
Ciao.

You can't tell from the number, the number only tells you if it COULD be a Combat.

To be a combat it needs to be in the right number range plus have the following,

Head with large C stamped on the top.

Head will also have a planed head/barrel joint. (you will see the head barrel joint as being thinner than normal between the fins)

32mm ports and 32mm/32mm manifolds

2S cam fitted.

Barrel black

Front Brake disc was a linked option so a drum braked 72 is a non combat.

There are other identifiers but they are common to all engines in the range not just Combats.

Does it have the 'C' stamped on the head, in the region of the top engine mount. Could be under the mount.
And the shaved head surface, so the lower head fin is close to the cylinder top fin.

Without that and without a C, its not a Combat.

Although anything could have happened to it in the past 40 years.
Previous owners are like that...

OOps.

Could easily be a Combat that had the head replaced for any number of reasons.

Now cue the L.A.B and Hobot breather debate. I'll grab the popcorn.
