Its don't look or sound like it but this is the sound of another failed stress and strain day wasted on a Notrun. Been through two apparently good condition mechanical advances this month the 1st and worse feeling actually allowed dropping engine idle on tricky Gravel sections, if I used the brakes just right on down hill turn with marbles, which is about the most taboo condition I know of. The better feeling looking advance was impossible to unstick once rolling, which is dangerous around here. Just for the record, timing light showed both breaker holding dead on 28" as good or better than my sworn off forever Boyers. No foreseeable riding.

When mine is right, I can start it in my Crocks.

Its not unique to me, Comstock and others can too and really its the norm for well dialed in Commandos. No claim to fame here just posted to nullify thoughts it was Wes or my fault that the points system failed to idle down w/o stalling too easy for on or off road use. Some times when piston stops just after TDC an electro ign keyed on will start it running at dead ldle, just turns on w/o a starter. A dialed in Cdo can even be a bit dangerous to kick off as it fires before completing kick to strain leg w/o any resistance to full extension lock. A well tuned Cdo should be able to pull steady up hill at just off idle lug speed and take sudden high throttle openings yet not stall or spin out.

I've heard the methamphetamine can spurn super human abilities followed by acute failures, not that those veiny arms would indicate such behaviors. :p :p :p

I'm built like Ichabod Crane and have connective tissue vascular genetic fault that leaves my vessels like balloons and should have brain bled or aortic split by now except for Chiropractic/nutrition miracle saving my brain stem and its nerve control over gene expression to play the best hand in the deck being deal from. I've shot up with Dr's and tasted the out puts of local meth labs, but have no more desire for any that as too healthy-high now they just bring me down. Only big doses of psychedelics or Ms Peel speed thrills tempt me off planet surface anymore. Yet nitromethane does have an appeal...

Swoodave's endurance kicking video comes to mind now : )

New .040 over pistons, new rings that seated smokeless in a few seconds by dry install and immediate 3000+ rpm on new surfaced liters and renewed head, valves and seats for distinct compression. Electronics may be best but contact breakers were great while they lasted. Done it before on other Commando's just no video. Its not as hard as it looks, even after crippling my foot a few times dialing it in wearing only moccasins. I am trying to put on weight and may be about 155 now.

I left the points cover off and is my tradition, initial runs are at night,. Will video the contacts making tiny purple lighting before I hang em up for good. Another relic like rotary dial phones.

Not ripe for prime time blooper segment. Just to let some air out my sail and it was hard to start by hand at first... Ugh I just noticed the peg cushion was already kicked off, sheeze.

I've told this story sevearl times. My first Norton was a '72 combat with 300 miles purchased in May '73. There's a very steep drive up to the tram station parking lot at Palms to Pines near Palm Springs. I put the combat in 4th gear and rolled down the hill dropping the clutch at 40mph. The thing skidded to a stop.

And you can hand start one. I'm amazed.

Norton twins are dang disadvantaged in the kicker gear ratio and 10 CR Combats is worst of the lot. If I ever get Peel going I look forward to some fun hand starting her with compression releases on but when the BIG twin bad asses I'll let test their manhood on : )

I did open up the kicker clamp gap more and filed a few more splines off next to it and about broke wrench on clamp bolt but so far kicker is staying solid on the shaft and so is my shoulder/arm joints.
