Over the weekend I went to start my 74 850 and it wouldn't. It just went buzzzzz. So on Sunday I sent Matt at CNW an email asking about the issue as my bike has one of the CNW starter kits installed. Within minutes he got back to me, I wasn't expecting a response before Monday. He was aware of the problem and would send out a replacement sprag clutch on Monday. No charge.
You can't ask for better service than that.

We will never escape the dreaded sprag!
It's a bit like Lucas electrics.

I don't know what goes wrong with my emails to him, I have now sent three over the months and never had any reply. They have all gone via his website.
Perhaps a technical issue at his end with filters etc., I really don't know, but I would like to purchase parts from him!
Does anybody have an alternative email address for him?

I sent him a message via this forum this morning. He responded within an hour. Maybe try that. @cNw

I can't say enough in praise of Matt and his staff at CNM.
I have all of his commando upgrades making my life with
my Norton as pleasurable as possible. Thank you Matthew.

After a couple of Xmas’s my wife and Matt might be on a first name basis, or getting close to it.
Imagine what it would be like if so many other of your day to day businesses interactions were up to the standards of CnW.

Regarding emails going awry.....

I have found, in the course of my business, emails are often blocked simply because my account resides on the same server as some spammer. Unfortunately, all who share that server (or sub-set of that server ... however these things work) are not informed that you have been "block" blocked. One must discover it for yourself, then request "unblocking" and usually, in a matter of hours, you are good again until it happens again. In this scenario, my service provider is blocking me.

Sometimes, it is on the receiving end. For example, I have had all emails blocked to all customers having email accounts with some particular service provider. In this scenario, my customer's service provider is blocking me.

Perhaps I do not have a good grasp of how this all works, but the end results are as I have described. In our business, our staff are generating hundreds of emails per day, all of which are labelled as being one account. Because of these numbers, we have had a lot of experience with blocking.

I was thinking of a witty response to never escaping the dreaded sprag. I’ve never owned an electric start Norton, so guess I have escaped it.

So thats what "POD" means (prince of darkness). I do appreciate a man with a sense of humor. BTW I have never had a problem with my podtronics.

Matt emigrated to the wrong country....bringing his stuff in here is expensive. I am not complaining about his prices rather the bite on shipping and import. :-(
Have you checked out Holland Norton Works? I don't know the specific relationship with CNW but they certainly offer many of the CNW parts. And I think it might be less expensive to ship from.

You're good at responding to email as well. Very helpful

Just thought I'd throw that out there and see if it sticks.

It's a spin-off from our two country's "special relationship";) The really strange thing is you can have anything from China at no extra import duty that includes Covid19! And we the UK send the worlds second largest economy billions of pounds in aid o_O go figure.

I’m beginning to realise (I know, it takes me a while sometimes) that ‘international aid’ actually has very little to do with helping the genuinely poor of this planet and much, much, more to do with oiling the wheels of international politics...

Impossible......politics is only about equality fairness and service to others.
Like your sleazy friends who fill YOUR pockets later on.

Apparently last time I checked my country Canada sends aid still to the world's 2nd largest economy. They make some inferior Norton parts , but 5 factories for domestic Rolls Royce market ? Careful using the "C...." word as I've been blocked before using it. How about them Norton's ?
