Hi can someone tell me where the coils are mounted on a mercury or late dominator can't find it in my manual

They mount to the inside exterior surface of the battery box, parallel to each other with the business ends facing upward.

So in between the back of battery and back of oil tank do they go on a special bracket or just bolt though battery box

There is a bracket for each coil and they each bolt to the battery box..

The parts books say coil, complete with clip. The only coil bracket shown is the G15/N15 bracket, which mounts both coils on one bracket (behind the kidney-shaped oil tank). What you want is the omega-shaped bracket for each coil.

Hi Bill,
please, a question.
But if the 1967 N/G 15 has the Magneto this means there are not the coils.
In any case, could you post a picture where the coils are fitted on the G15?.
Thank you.
Piero

Coils were fitted mid-year 1967, from S/N 121007-on. The oil tank mounting tab was changed slightly to move the tank outwards to clear the coils.
