I want and tell this story.
I live in Norway and chose to buy new rims for my Mk3 by Matt at CNWeven though
it became part shipping COSTs. I did it because I was confident it was then correct rim that matched my bike.
Something went wrong and I got a rim of a bicycle with drum brake.
I wrote and told Matt this.
He was very upset, and sent me a replacement rims spokes, I should just send the wrong rim back to him, and he paid everything.
Everything worked out well and I got the rims I should have.
This is a man we can trust.

Let me get this right. You ordered Commando MK3 rims from CNW and received bicyle rims from him :?: Sure this is a man we can trust

I think what the OP is saying is that he received the rim for a drum braked Commando? (Forgive me, that may have been humour)

I've had good experiences with Matt & CNW too.

Ah yeah - just spotted the smilies on the next line!!!! How glad am I that I didn't come over all keyboard warrior on your arse!

Cheers, Jon

There was a very nice and complimentary segment on Colorado Norton Wks just this past week on the TV series "Cafe Racer"

Vidar,

Well.....Thanks for the nice feedback but the fact is that I screwed up. We exchanged a few emails and when it came down the the final details I ordered the wrong rear rim. I had it drilled for a drum brake rear instead of a disc brake rear. I was definitely disappointed when I realized that you got the wrong rim and spokes and I am sure you were as well

It didn't help that you are located in Norway so it took a little longer for you to get the right parts. Its kind of funny that its rarely close to home when stuff goes wrong.

I should be the one thanking you for being understanding and patient

Glad it all worked out in the end.

Thanks

Matt,

Appreciate the honesty and integrity. Did you happen to send him a can of Surströmming and/or Lutefisk to make him feel better?

tack så mycket!

Just another of Murphy's Laws.

The important thing isn't so much that something went wrong (never desired, but sh*t does happen, frequency is another matter), but what is important when things go wrong is what is done to fix the matter. That is where you typically get to see one's true colours and it's nice to see that someone who is so involved in and supportive of the Norton Community conducts themselves in such a professional and diligent manner. Good for you Matt.

Vidar,

Not sure I could eat either one!
Then perhaps your taste buds would turn to the sweeter flavour of Solomon Gundy (Nova Scotia style vs the West Indian style). If not, then take 6-12 beer and try again, until successful.

Worked with Gary regarding my oil tank upgrade. Class act. And don't get me started on Lutefisk thing.

Edit - "6 - 12 Schooner and try again"

Two thumbs up on my dealings with CNW!!
