Have not used those.


I have these and they are HEAD & SHOULDERS stiction reduction over every other type I've tried.
Money well spent.

They look good. just changed my fork seals, but I may go for these.

The extension extends the distance between the top and bottom bush. This distance is short on road holders. Bigger distance should equal less fore and aft / twist play.

Ron Williams at Maxton told me the worst thing about Roadholders, apart from the crappy internals, is the short length of the sliders which causes more stiction. Just look at any telescopic fork from the eighties onward. They all have longer sliders.

I made 25 mm slider extensions for my N15. It has already 25 mm longer stanchions.
It definitely is an improvement, especially on rougher roads.
They are hidden inside the chrome (now stainless) shrouds:




Making them myself, I could machine them to the size of the seals I wanted to use:
ARI. 149 (35 x 46 x 11)
ARI. 003T (35 X 48 x11) OD must be reduced slightly to fit the sliders.
Ariete seals are much better than std seals.
By limiting the extension to 25 mm, the top bushing still extends into the slider itself,
Thus under emergency braking, the load on the fork will be divided between the two.
(probably doesn't matter, but I like the idea..)

Someone sent me a photo of these extra long fork extensions they made for themselves.



Below is a photo of what are probably the very first Norton roadholder extensions with synthetic bushings I made for my monoshock roadracer in 1985. A definite improvement over stock.
