Anyone using the CNW Easy Pull Clutch kit? Has the barnett plates, new cable and a modified pressure plate (thinner?). Holland Norton Works lists the same kit (#H26) but includes a special Easy Pull operating lever.

I know stack height is important, but without the OldBritts supply of different plates to try out, unsure how a non-machinist would make any needed adjustements?

For stack height:
Try RGM

Just be aware that with a belt drive kit, there may be problems fitting the thicker plates. On my Maney clutch basker for example, the normal plates are a noticeably fit then on the standard hub, and my new 3mm plate does not fit at all (but is a fine fit on the standard basket). Im going to do a bit of filing to get it to work.

I’m running it with the CNW belt drive. I like it. I can’t comment on how easy it is to pull though because it’s been 30 years since I’ve ridden it with the stock clutch

My original clutch works great and has always been a easy pull light clutch from new, I still run with the original clutch lever and a nice straight run cable and to stop cables breaking usually at the lever end a dab of grease around the cable end where it runs through the adjuster, since doing that I haven't broke a cable since.
The bronze plates work great and since using ATM fluid brand F in my primary my clutch plates haven't stuck and the clutch is always free as soon as I pull the lever in, my clutch is easy to pull even with one finger if I wanted to.
In 46+ years I have only replaced the pressure plate and clutch centre once about 12 years ago, other than that it's all from the factory from new.
If your clutch is hard to pull or not light then something is not right as it should be a easy pull clutch.

i bought the complete kit from cNw - plug and play. coupled with a premium barnett cable and easy two finger pull on the clutch lever. everything came together to hit the stacking height sweet spot. i'm thinking it came with new spacers, thinner pressure plate, and new clutch kit. thinking i paid a tad above 200$.

I think that these plates are used when things start to wear out of spec.

If true then there'd be no need for "easy pull" clutch kits and clutch pull can often be improved by 'tuning' (usually increasing) the stack height.

Unworn clutches can also benefit from the increased stack height as it is often 'low' even with new plates.

My Mk3's clutch pull was certainly lighter after fitting RGM's 3mm plain plate and that was shortly after fitting new (Surflex) friction plates.

Les,
No Disagreement with me there.

Also switch to an Atlas cable pull lever in the gearbox for an easier more gradual ramp - but make sure you have to have enough hand lever movment to fully disengage the clutch. You can get more hand lever travel by filing a little material off where the hand lever hits when its released. Keep cable slack to a minimum.

Mk3 clutch after setting to Atlantic Green info + Featherlite cable install. Before those changes were made the whole hand was needed and it was a hard squeeze at that.

Wow, that's amazing. I have a MK3 that I can barely pull in the clutch, it's unbelievably hard. So, it's one of these: Venhill F/L clutch cable? And did you adjust the stack height with different plates?

I have the Barnett clutch plates installed, from the previous post i understand i should install the 3 mm thick plate kit for lighter clutch pull.
Do i need anything else?

Yes, the Venhill FeatherLIght clutch cable was installed first. Although, even before doing that I measured existing clutch pull with a spring scale. Iirc it was about 25 lb with a freshly lubricated standard cable. That is a lot!
The Featherlight install dropped the pull needed to 17lbs. That is without any lube as Venhills recommends against lube on the Featherlight cables.
The clutch stack height was adjusted next. That brought pull down to something like 3 or 4 lbs, just as you see it in the video.
The pull is so light that I thought the clutch might slip, but it doesn't.

it’s all to do with the characteristics of the diaphragm spring. read up if you don’t know.
