I just put a new bearing in my clutch basket. Does that get packed with grease or does it get lubed from the primary oil?

It's lubricated by primary oil mist/splash - so just lube the bearing with some primary oil before you fit the clutch assembly.

If it's the "open type" bearing as the original---no seals---then it gets oil from the primary chain as it splashes away----however--it you installed a sealed bearing--then it should be greased--even if new---carefully pry off the rubber seals--wash out the factory whale oil/grease---and pack it with some good quality bearing grease.
At least this is what I would do---if it was a sealed bearing.

My 68 Workshop Manual says to "Apply a little anti-centrifuge grease on the bearing..." after refitting the clutch bearing. I notice I hardly get any oil up in that area from the pool at the bottom of the primary.
