I'm feeling a tiny bit stupid today, every time I've had the needles out of my amals I've cursed myself at splitting the needle clip when removing them, I've kept Burlen fuels dividends up for years and have often wondered why they couldn't make a decent stainless needle clip or something similar, but better than the crap I seem to have been receiving for many years. I'd remove a needle and study the clip studiously to see that yes another broken one, however I've only ever studied them after removal, that is until today, when on delivery of yet more clips I opened the packet to see quite clearly that the clips have a split in by design. Yes you might think me stupid but I've got the worlds largest collection of fully working needle clips known to man. Any offers??

Hi Steve, you have my permission to do these things. But listen to this. During the work sessions I spent make my 850 more economical, I fitted new needle valves etc, and even set the seats up slightly higher to lower the float levels. One day, I took the top of both carbs to do some titivating [ cant remember why ], then when putting the L H one back in place , that spring clip came off and the needle went tinckle-tinckle. [ you know the feeling. well I searched my workshop floor for ages and got my 2 sons to came and help. no luck. F..k. so off with the carb and manifold. no sign of it going down the inlet ports. another f..kit. Into the tool kit and pull out 2 new needles. Fitted 2 new needles to both carbs etcetc and then started the bike up. You guesed it, I found out where that f...g needle went. munched ANOTHER SPRAK PLUG AND SPAT IT OUT INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER never to be seen again. Now I had another problem to fix because with the needle on the top groove, like th eold ones it was too lean. Went well when I raised the needles to the bottom groove. Someone mentioned that us mechanics do some strange things. Are but the good ones do a lot of good.
have a great day.
