Hence why its important for logical thinking parents to get involved in your local school boards to stop this madness from growing....if they want to stop pollution tell them to clean up some of the mess including their bedrooms
Climate brainwashing needs to curtailed
It always somewhat concerns me that somehow concern for the environment seems to stir people to use terms like brainwashing and loony left etc. And the same people who complain about brainwashing want to curtail alternative ideas they may not agree with. Seems a little hypocritical to me.
I'm very happy for my children to take an interest in such topics.
Human activity has most definitely altered the chemistry of the atmosphere. Increase in CO2 is a fact not an opinion. We do need to find ways to reduce human impact on the environment. Sea level rise is real. It's no use shouting and talking about brainwashing.
I don't think throwing soup over a painting or glueing yourself to a road actually works to change people minds. But to be honest when your young you do crazy stuff. I'd sooner they would do that than do ramraids or sell meth.
Where am I coming from? Firstly a Masters degree in Geology. I studied and worked with some of the scientists who are developing sea level curves, Antarctic ice sheet reduction, monitoring atmospheric change in ice cores etc. Some people accuse them of inventing data to get research funding. That's BS. I have known those guys for decades. They are straightup scientists and made up data would be called out very easily. Others say but the world was hotter and colder in the past. We are just seeing the same natural cycles. Guess what. Those same scientists are the ones who helped interpret the past. Of course they know there have been heating and cooling cycles in the past. But they are also the ones who have the data and training to determine that what is happening now is much faster and the impact on our current society will be very harsh.
And now I will be categorised as a bleeding lefty who eats nuts and spent his life in a commune somewhere.
But sorry guys. I worked almost my entire career as a petroleum engineer in oil and gas. Starting in the North Sea as a wellsite engineer and finishing as a Country Petroleum Engineering manager. I worked in Europe, South America, Central Asia, Eastern, Europe, SE Asia and NZ. I am a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Ammerican Association of Petroleum Geologist.
My training and experience has given me methods to find and interpret data. I have also had lots of experience working through work from other scientists and engineers and assessing the quality and validity of their interpretations.
So sorry guys.
Climate change is real. The science is real. Those young kids were not being particularly helpful but their fundamental message is correct.
