I think it's fine to use with a belt drive Dave, what could it hurt?

If I JB Weld it will be hard to weld later. If I shim it up correctly it will hopefully be fine. If it was a wet primary there shouldn’t be oil up that high. But we all know that oil finds a way.

I’ll move ahead and deal with any issues later. With a dry primary you can have it completely stripped in no time.
